Sydney Albritton

Sydney Albritton is the 23-year-old daughter of Phillip Albritton and Sally Green.  Sydney resides in West Monroe, Louisiana where she was born and raised.  She recently obtained an associate degree in general studies degree locally from Louisiana Delta Community College.  She is actively furthering her education by pursuing a degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern Arkansas.  In addition, she is a board-certified optician by the American Board of Opticianry.  In the future, Sydney plans to combine her love for therapy and horses and one day open her own horse-assisted therapy clinic.

 

Despite not being raised in a rodeo background, Sydney’s passion for horses and the western way of life began at a young age.  Sydney started riding lesson horses in the first grade and continued into high school until she was finally able to purchase her first horse. What her parents first thought of as a “phase” evidently was not one, as she now owns four of her own American Quarter horses.  Growing up, Sydney fell in love with the toughest sport on dirt and consistently attended rodeos as a spectator for many of her childhood years.  Through hard work and dedication, she began barrel racing once she was able have her own horse.    

 

In her spare time, Sydney is an avid outdoor enthusiast and thoroughly enjoys hunting, fishing, trail riding, and gardening.  She also loves to barrel race and spend time with family and friends on her family’s farm.  Sydney also very passionate about creative design and designs and creates many of the pieces featured in her wardrobe.   However, one of her favorite activities is educating and passing on the western way of life to younger generations.  

 

“To have the opportunity to represent professional rodeo and the Southeastern Circuit is such a blessing to me.  As a first-generation cowgirl, rodeo has blessed me with so many people who have helped me along my journey and I would not be where I am today without my “rodeo family.”  Every adversity shaped me into who I am today and for that I am forever grateful.  As Maya Angelou once famously said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  As a rodeo queen, I will forever cherish this quote because even a small interaction can make a large and lasting impact.  I hope to one day leave a legacy to inspire others to chase their dreams fiercely and to never give up on your passion.  With great pride, I am honored to be a representative for the nine states of the Southeastern Circuit and the sport of professional rodeo.” 

The Miss Southeastern Circuit Inc. is so honored to work with Sydney this year as she travels throughout the United States promoting the Southeastern Circuit in the PRCA.
